Situated in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland, Mourne Textiles was founded by Norwegian designer Gerd Hay-Edie, over seventy years ago.
Infinitely inspired by the sweeping peaks of the Mournes, Gerd's iconic textile designs and pioneering weaving techniques became a staple of mid-century British design. Today, Mourne Textiles connects past designs with modern influences to create a collection of timeless and wholely handmade home furnishings in their original mill in Rostrevor.
In a world of standardization, Mourne Textiles continues to embrace the unique, and works alongside modern designers to create new work that compliments Gerd's original textiles designs.
Today, the tradition of Mourne Textiles is continued by her daughter, Karen Hay-Edie, and grandson, Mario Sierra.
