The namesake of founder Mia Reiko Braverman's grandmother, 'Fumi' is an ode to ancestral connection, the craft of being home, and a love of the arts.

Having studied under specialist Eriyo Watanabe, Mia began her journey making small-batch Japanese-style incense to forge her own connections to the culture of her maternal ancestors. Incense powders, cones, sticks, and oils have burned in Japanese temples and homes for thousands of years, and many of the same traditional techniques and ingredients are still in use today.

Though fragrance is not as intentional a part of daily life as it was in the past, Fumi aims to remind us how deeply our emotions and memories are tied to our sense of smell.
