Mjölk founders John and Juli Baker examine how nature informs creativity in their bi-annual publication and sister shop, Minka.
Minka are the thatched farmhouses found across Japan. Though modest in standing, these forms are crafted with a strong connection to materiality and nature, a metaphor for the types of products that both Mjolk and Minka aim to represent.
Always in pursuit of living a quieter life, the Baker family divides their time between living above their bustling shop, Mjölk, in Toronto and finding respite in a renovated Scottish stone house two hours outside of the city.
Through this slower pace of living and commitment to craft, John and Juli are able to create an experience, at home and in-store, that is effortlessly intentional and well-balanced.
