In a world oversaturated with skincare products, we were particularly drawn to this bar soap because of its fresh scent, clean after-feel, and use of crushed pearl powder. In traditional Chinese medicine, pearls hold a deep significance to health and well-being and have been used for centuries to enhance the youthful appearance of skin and treat wounds. Cold-processed using rich emollient oils and wrapped in recyclable packaging to minimize waste, this modern interpretation of ancient techniques makes a luxurious addition to the otherwise uninteresting ritual of washing your hands. Also, who doesn't love soap on a rope?

Created in collaboration with the Portland Ace Hotel in 2008, these bar soaps were offered exclusively at Ace Hotel locations worldwide for over a decade.

Pearl+

When I think of Pearl+, I think of a quiet, everyday luxury—artisanal products rooted in the Eastern tenets of beauty and wellness, yet wonderfully straightforward. I’m reminded that something as simple as washing can be an act of care; gentle, grounding, and refreshingly uncomplicated.

Founded in 2008 in Portland, Oregon, by Janet Jay, Pearl+ seeks to continue the ancient traditions of Eastern medicinal culture while adapting them for modern life. Inspired by her Chinese grandmother and aunts who used crushed pearl powder and activated charcoal in their beauty products, Janet drew on her experience developing products for Diane Von Furstenberg and Estee Lauder to create a line of self-care products that are pure and nourishing for the mind and body. With its 100% natural ingredients and cross-cultural, genderless, and ageless fragrance, Pearl+ has remained committed to quality and simplicity throughout its nearly 20 years of operations.

Today, with the production of Pearl+ products based solely in Japan, Janet continues to develop products for global beauty brands while also leading Golden Hour, a wellness studio that believes in continuous care.

Product Care

All of our bath and wellness products are handmade using natural, cruelty-free, non-toxic materials.

To extend the life of your candles, protect them from heat, light, and humidity by storing them in cool, dark, and dry places between uses. When lighting, hold the flame at the base of the wick to prevent burning away the wick.

For various skin oils, soaps, lotions, sprays, and scented products, keep them in a temperature-controlled space with limited sunlight exposure. The combination of UV light and heat breaks down the natural oils and ingredients, causing the color to fade, evaporating fragrances, and decreasing shelf life.

For bar soaps in particular, always allow them to dry completely between uses.

If not stored in its original packaging, we recommend keeping all incense, potpourri, and aromatics in an airtight, light-proof container to maintain their fragrance.

Return Policy

Returns for store credit are accepted within 7 days of receipt or delivery. All valid returns must be in unused condition with attached tags and original packaging.

For online orders, Storied Objects will not accept any returned merchandise without prior written communication and a valid return authorization number. Upon inspection of the returned item, store credit will be provided minus a 10% restocking fee; no refunds.
