Details

Made just a few blocks from our store in Portland, Oregon, each piece of paper is made from recycled cotton fabrics from the garment industry. We especially love the deckled edges, which showcase the handmade nature of the paper-making process. Price is for a single sheet of paper.

Note: We recommend using gel pens to write on these cards, as they roll across the textured surface well. Heavy ink pens tend to bleed and soak through.

Artist Notes

Oblation Paper Press

For paper artists Jennifer and Ron Rich, paper is more than an expendable everyday tool; it is an artistic medium that elevates the contents inscribed on its surface.

Since first selling their paper at markets in 1989, Oblation Paper and Press has become the Portland destination for fine stationery, letterpress printing, and celebrating the written word. Even while carrying an assortment of contemporary papers, fountain pens, pencils, notebooks, and paper goods from around the world, Oblation continues to employ traditional techniques to make handmade paper sheets with unwanted paper products and recycled cotton fiber from the garment industry.

Despite modernity's growing monopoly on the paper industry, Oblation remains steadfast, ensuring the creation and curation of products that reflect an era of quality and craftsmanship.

Product Care

The ideal environment for paper-based items is a stable climate with minimal fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

As a general rule, we recommend storing your books and paper products where you reside in your home—think living room or bedroom, not the attic or basement.

To avoid fading and discoloration, keep your books and stationery out of direct sunlight and dust regularly with a soft microfiber cloth or duster.

Always handle paper products with clean, dry hands to avoid staining from lotions and oils.

While upright storage is generally best for books and zines, oversized, heavy, or delicate items should lie flat.

Use bookends to prevent books from leaning when stored vertically.
