Details

The larger sibling to the whiskey sipper, this larger and slightly rounder iteration is as beautiful on the table as in the hand. Each entirely unique, the textured sides provide an easy grip, while the smoothly rolled rim allows for an enjoyable drinking experience. Wether served neat or with ice, we appreciate how the clarity of the glass and its unexpected weightiness lend well to holding your favorite cocktails, wine, and espressos.

Artist Notes

Jerry Lin-Hsien Kung

Welding, machining, CAD design, blowing glass, drafting—when it comes to industrial processes, Jerry Lin-Hsien Kung is a proper jack of all trades.

Best known for his work in glass sculptures, a testament to his BFA degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, Kung has always been inspired by the characteristics of materials and the process of discovering their nuances. After learning the language of glass—heat, saturation, and equilibrium—Kung merged his understanding of the material with his interest in tool design, resulting in a fabrication studio that creates ergonomically designed custom glass-blowing tools.

With his Mary Poppins-sized toolkit of material understanding, Kung leads a small team alongside Kelly Skunes in Oakland, California, focused on refining, honing, and expanding their product offering, one TIG-welded mold at a time.

Product Care

Hand-blown/furnace-made glass is not resistant to rapid temperature changes. To avoid a break, keep the piece away from dishwashers, open flames, boiling liquids, and drastic temperature changes.

As a general rule, do not stack or store your glass pieces with the weight on the lip.

Always be careful when using chipped or cracked glass. Not handling with care may result in injury.

If the piece is lightly dirty, rinse it under lukewarm water using a soft sponge. If there are oily areas, instead of using only lukewarm water, use a mild dish detergent and a soft sponge to gently clean the piece.

After drying thoroughly, store the piece on a shelf or in a cabinet with good airflow.

To care for sandblasted/frosted glass, clean by gently wiping in circles with a soft microfiber cloth and a mild dish soap solution or a non-ammonia glass cleaner. Always rinse thoroughly with warm water to prevent soap residue from dulling the satin finish.

The porous texture of sandblasted/frosted glass can easily absorb oils. To dissolve stubborn smudges or fingerprints, gently wipe with rubbing alcohol or a mild oil-cutting product on a microfiber cloth.

If the sandblasted/frosted glass looks ashy or dry, apply a tiny amount of mineral oil across the surface and buff thoroughly with a clean, lint-free cloth.
