Hand-felted using nothing but water, olive oil soap, and sustainably sheered wool from small farms, these animal-friendly 'sheepskins' are an ethical alternative to traditional methods. Strong enough to use as a rug or to cover your favorite chair or bench, each felt is wonderful to touch and made to last many years. We've admired the soft carbon curls of Gotland wool for years and were elated to find that these locks were sourced from Apple Tree Farm in Eugene, Oregon.

Food Shelter Clothing

Shaped by a deeply personal connection to the land and an unwavering commitment to sustainability, Food Shelter Clothing was born through the interplay of beauty and utility expressed through natural fibers and botanical color.

Centered around the centuries-old technique of felt making, textile artist Kristina Foley honors this ancient art form by celebrating the natural qualities of wool. Her technique allows the raw beauty of the fiber to emerge and transform, resulting in works of art that invite a respectful, reciprocal connection with the beauty, utility, and spirit of the animal without compromising on ethics. Above all, it's the transparency of her artistic process that emphasizes the authenticity of the materials she uses.

By building relationships with small farms, with a special focus on the Pacific Northwest to source wool, Kristina is part of a broader movement that supports land stewardship and a domestic supply chain that prioritizes regenerative farming practices, animal welfare, and the safety of farm workers, all while collaborating with designers, artists, and educators.
