For many PNW residents, the natural world is a symbol of their cultural identity. For Vancouver-based paper artist Claudia Moore, it is a craft form she strives to evolve by using flora as her preferred artistic medium.
Inspired by her mother, who would collect rocks and sticks along their walks, Claudia spent her childhood closely studying the shapes, patterns, and colors of each found object. Now, with all her materials either grown or gathered, Moore's work is imbued with a reverence for nature. Every single leaf and petal is carefully plucked, dried, and applied with love, giving each piece a spirit uniquely its own.
Outside of creating her nature-inspired art, Claudia can be found spending time with her grandkids, tending her garden, and hiking with her husband throughout Oregon and Washington.
