Return Policy

Returns and store credit

Return requests for store credit are accepted within 7 days of delivery. All valid returns must be in unused condition with attached tags and packaging, and tracking must be provided for the return. Storied Objects will not accept any returned merchandise without prior written communication and a valid return authorization number, which will be provided to you. Upon inspection and approval of the returned item, store credit will be provided minus a 10% restocking fee; no refunds. All orders of sale and made-to-order items are final upon confirmation and payment and cannot be returned for store credit. 

Storied Objects does not assume responsibility for damaged or lost returned goods while in transit from the customer. We highly recommend customers use a shipping carrier with a tracking or trace system and that the package be insured for its full retail value. Any charges incurred as the result of a return (i.e. shipping, duties, and taxes) are the customer’s responsibility.

If the subject of liability arises, the matter will be settled directly between Storied Objects and the customer. 


Lost or damaged items

Storied Objects will not be liable for any damages or losses caused by our shipping services. All items are purchased at your own risk. Any damage or losses incurred during shipping must be taken up between you and the shipping company. Storied Objects ensures all shipments for the full retail value of the product and will provide you with the tracking number and the shipping company's contact information. Once provided, it is your responsibility as the customer to contact and deal with the shipping company. 


Defective and faulty goods

In the rare case of receiving defective merchandise, it must be reported to hello@shopstoriedobjects.com within 48 hours of delivery, including a detailed description and images of the suspected defect. Upon approval, the faulty item must be sent back in its original box and packaging to Storied Objects, where it will be replaced with a similar item. If a replacement is not possible (e.g., out-of-stock, discontinued, or one-off items), a refund will be offered using the original payment method.

Storied Objects will not accept any returned merchandise without prior written communication and a valid return authorization number. 

Please note that most items are handmade and have natural size, color, and shape variations. Any inherent variation in the material, damage acquired through use, or dissatisfaction with how the object patinas over time will not be viewed as a legitimate basis for a refund. We will not accept responsibility for damage to personal property caused by misusing or mishandling merchandise sold.

Shipping and Handling

Turnaround time

All orders are shipped via USPS or UPS within 5 business days of receipt, except on national holidays. Your shipping options and cost will be outlined at the time of checkout. Shipping costs will be automatically calculated based on the total volumetric weight of your order and applicable state and/or local taxes. After it ships, you may track your order via the USPS or UPS website. Upon shipping, you will receive a confirmation email with your order details.

On the rare occasion that an item is oversold, we will contact you directly to determine how you'd like to proceed with your order.

Shipping delays

Although we try our best to ensure packages are delivered in a timely manner, shipping times may vary depending on the destination. Once a package is shipped, we have no control over how long it will take to arrive, including whether or not your package is delayed in your country’s customs office. 

By placing an order with us, you accept the risk that your package may be delayed during shipment for these reasons.

 

International orders

We currently offer standard shipping options to the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. If you're located in a country or territory not listed above and wish to place an order, please email us directly at hello@shopstoriedobjects.com.

When ordering goods for international deliveries outside of the United States, you may be subject to import duties and/or taxes. Storied Objects is not responsible for any charges incurred from customs/duties. Please contact your local customs office for further information on your country's customs and excise policies.


Additional charges

When items of heavy weight or irregular size are ordered, additional shipping charges may apply. In these cases, customers will be notified via email and asked to pay extra shipping and handling charges before the shipment can be processed. 

 

Specialized shipping

Storied Objects will ship orders via other carriers (DHL, FedEx, etc) on a special request basis. We also provide local pickup, courier, and art handling services for all local deliveries within the city of Portland. Please email us at hello@shopstoriedobjects.com to arrange specialized shipping.
