Invisible yet present, scent plays a powerful role in how you experience a space. Made up of only three ingredients (sandalwood, clove, and frankincense,) the fragrance cast by this incense has depth, developing slowly as it drifts through the air. Meaning 'welcome home' in Japanese, Okaeri carries notes of smoke, peppery citrus, wood, and rich spice.

Each kiribako (paulowina wood box) comes with 20 incense cones.

Burn Tip: Burning natural materials leaves a slight residue. We suggest burning cones atop a small bed of salt, rice, or sand and tossing as needed.

Fumi
Mia Reiko Braverman

The namesake of founder Mia Reiko Braverman's grandmother, 'Fumi' is an ode to ancestral connection, the craft of being home, and a love of the arts. Having studied under specialist Eriyo Watanabe, Mia began her journey making small-batch Japanese-style incense to forge her own connections to the culture of her maternal ancestors. Incense powders, cones, sticks, and oils have burned in Japanese temples and homes for thousands of years, and many of the same traditional techniques and ingredients are still in use today. Though fragrance is not as intentional a part of daily life as it was in the past, Fumi aims to remind us how deeply our emotions and memories are tied to our sense of smell.

Materials: Sandalwood, clove, frankincense, and makko (binder made of tree bark.)
Origin: Portland, Oregon
