New Year Reflections | 2025

New Year Reflections | 2025

When preparing to welcome in a new year, we can't help but reflect with full hearts.

For small, independent shops like ours, this year hasn't been without its challenges. Sorrow/joy. Growth/stagnation. Fear/optimism. Like a sine wave, the amplitude of the crests corresponds to the troughs. Eventually, when the timing is right, things return to neutral and begin to shift again. At every step, we're reminded of the importance of what we're building here and to focus on what truly matters.

The Oak Street gallery has brought so much inspiration this year. Every piece, exhibition, and interaction is the result of deep intention and collaboration from our small team. It's grown into a place where process is visible, and dialogue and exchange are part of the practice. The work here is incredibly personal and rooted in care, purpose, and pride.

In the new year, we look to expand our reach while working to become an integral part of our local community. My intentions for myself remain the same: to accept change in all its forms, controlled and uncontrolled, and refrain from self-doubt or judgment throughout these shifts. Have I been successful with this in the past? Partially... but there is much room for improvement.

We feel incredibly lucky to do what we do, and it's only made possible because of you. Your belief in what we're building here means everything to us.

From our small team, thank you for being part of this story.

Alexandra
