Artist Notes

Inspired by their travels in Scandinavia and Japan, John and Juli Baker established Mjölk, a gallery and design store, in the beloved Junction neighborhood of Toronto, Canada, in 2010. Swedish for 'milk,' Mjölk brings together the aesthetic values of Japanese and Scandinavian design. When you step into their showroom, it is easy to see that John and Juli hold functionality and beauty as a high virtue. As an extension of their shop, John and Juli produce multiple publications each year under the namesake of Mjölk and their sister shop, Minka.
